Who we are

Dragonomics was established in 1997 by independent journalist Joe Studwell. In 2002 Arthur Kroeber, an independent journalist resident in Asia since 1987, became a partner in the firm. In 2007 Mr Studwell sold his share to GaveKal Research, an independent global economic research company based in Hong Kong. As a result of this arrangement, Dragonomics services are available either on a stand-alone basis or as part of a subscription to GaveKal's service. Mr Kroeber retains his shareholding and directs the Dragonomics research operations from Beijing.
